"Sebenarnya Bukalapak juga sempat ditawari untuk dapat investasi dalam jumlah besar dari pihak asing. Tapi sementara ini kami lebih memilih untuk memiliki dana investasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan saja biar lebih efektif dalam menjalankan strategi bisnis yang ada," ungkap Achmad Zaky, CEO Bukalapak.

Zaky beralasan pihaknya menolak tawaran investasi dikarenakan tak mau mendapat tekanan yang terlalu besar dari modal 'gemuk' yang dimilikinya. Perusahaan rintisan teknologi ini menilai modal besar yang dimilikinya akan membuat Bukalapak berpotensi lebih mudah menghamburkan uang.

"Kebanyakan duit bisa bikin jadi lebih mudah 'membakar uang' untuk hal-hal yang tidak terlalu diperlukan. Selain itu tekanan yang ada karena modal yang terlalu besar juga sangat kami hindari, lebih baik dananya pas tapi efektif penggunaannya," ujar Zaky di Resaurant Seribu Rasa, Jakarta.

Pria kelahiran Sragen tahun 1986 itu pun mengaku perusahaannya lebih memilih bertahan dengan nilai investasi yang tak sampai Rp 50 miliar dalam bermain di industri e-Commerce Tanah Air. Dana itu dinilai cukup untuk menjadi pemain yang berkualitas dan tetap mampu bersaing dengan perusahaan pesaingnya dari dalam maupun luar negeri.

"Sampai saat ini nilai investasi yang ada di Bukalapak masih terbilang kecil, nggak sampai Rp 50 miliar. Tapi kami yakin untuk berkembang di industri e-Commerce, bukan cuma dana besar yang jadi penentunya tapi kualitas, keamanan, kenyamanan yang disediakan pada layanan," imbuh Zaky.
